Looking for your next relaxing getaway? For some travelers, there's nothing better than an all-inclusive vacation because it means spending more time lounging on a pristine, white-sand beach (with a fruity drink in hand, of course), snorkeling among colorful fishes, splashing in the pool, or dining out with loved ones without ever having to reach for a wallet. Pros of staying at an all-inclusive vacation:
Everything is paid for so it's easy to keep within your budget. And if you find a deal, they can even be quite cheap. They're perfect for people who don't like to plan trips. They're hassle free and feel like a true vacation where you can let go and unwind.
Poor quality food and drink
Stories of watered down alcohol and cardboard food are often features of low quality hotels – not part and parcel of a package holiday. All inclusive guests are served the same goods as cash paying guests, but don't expect the Courvoisier to be part of the deal, you will have to pay extra!
All-inclusives in the U.S., in general, aren't like those in the Caribbean and Mexico. Club Med Sandpiper Bay (read on for details!) is the only truly all-inclusive resort in the U.S., but many other resorts offer all-inclusive packages that cover accommodations, meals, amenities, and activities.
o The cost you will pay per night includes all of your food and beverage for all meals and snacks. You can choose from 6 restaurants at the resort, some more formal and some buffet-style. Does every person pay to stay? o Yes, there is a cost for every person who stays.
Early or late: Either book very early (nine months or more in advance, especially if you want to stay during peak seasons like Christmas and New Year's) or take a chance on last-minute deals.
All-inclusive prices range from around $150 to $430 per night, but vacationers can typically score a standard room for less than $300 nightly.
We crunched the numbers and have the definitive answer for you. Yes, all-inclusive vacations are worth the money even if you don't drink alcohol. Cost savings can range anywhere from hundreds to thousands of dollars for a 6 night trip for two, depending on the destination.
In addition to as much food as you can eat, all-inclusive resorts typically include all the alcoholic drinks you can drink. You will be shocked that, yes, they will keep serving you booze as long as you want.
IS ATLANTIS AN ALL-INCLUSIVE RESORT? Atlantis is not an all-inclusive Resort; we are a full service Resort. As our guest, you have full access to all Atlantis water park features at no additional cost.
Club Med Sandpiper Bay
Located on the St. Lucie River about an hour north of West Palm Beach, Club Med Sandpiper Bay prides itself as the only true all-inclusive resort in the United States, meaning that travelers pay a flat rate for the room, food, drinks and activities.
This is possible because when you pay for your vacation package, often this includes everything from flights and airport transfer, to luxury accommodation, meals, and entertainment. All-inclusive means different things depending upon where you go.
This type of travel can become superficial. If the tour is too large your visiting time will be reduced by things like gathering everyone on time, getting on the bus, getting off the bus… Your tour guide might not be as good as she should be – you might have been better off just reading your guidebook.

Because if you have two people in a room, the hotel is cleaning up after two and replenishing supplies (towels, soap, etc.) for two. For a third or fourth person, that means more work and more towels, etc. The hotel has to charge accordingly; and yes, they WILL check to see if two, three or four or occupying a room.
Most major hotel chains do not charge you per person when only two guests are on the reservation in my experience, especially if you are staying at a standard hotel brand.
Once you get to your destination, you can walk into your desired all-inclusive hotel and try to negotiate. You'll already have a place to stay, so you have nothing to lose! And the hotel may happily accept your desired rate, instead of losing money on empty rooms. It Doesn't Hurt to Try to Negotiate!
The cheapest time to go to the Caribbean is during the low season, which generally runs from May through August. The cheapest months are May and June. If you do not mind some rain showers during your vacation, you can score great deals for a Caribbean vacation.
Fall is the best season for an all-inclusive vacation, when rooms are often significantly cheaper. Off-site activities, usually limited to a certain number of people, also tend to fill up fast during the high seasons. Seasonal price drops on airfare – on both domestic and international airfares – start in August.
Cost can be lower: When flights and hotels are booked together, travelers can achieve better prices.
The average traveler to Jamaica spends about $100 a day on their trip. Since the cost of living in Jamaica is lower than on some other Caribbean islands, items such as food can be very inexpensive. Also, the Jamaican dollar offers great value against the American dollar, so you can really maximize what you spend here.
Atlantis vacation prices vary depending on which hotel you stay at and if you book a special package, but current room rates begin as low as $189 per night. You can view Atlantis resort's current list of offers and special packages here, and find a list of current room rates on Atlantis Resort's website.
The average price of a 7-day trip to Cancun is $1,116 for a solo traveler, $2,004 for a couple, and $3,758 for a family of 4. Cancun hotels range from $25 to $525 per night with an average of $39, while most vacation rentals will cost $20 to $440 per night for the entire home.
If you just want to relax at a beach and enjoy the resort activities, then absolutely, an all-inclusive resort is worth it for couples. But if you want to explore your destination, do lots of offsite activities, and eat at local restaurants, it may not be.
The first thing we think of when we are told that everything is included is food and drink. And the answer is yes, everything is included. From the mojito you sip at the pool bar while enjoying the sunset, to the croissantyou have for breakfast in the morning at the buffet.
All inclusive hotels are available in many tourist locations, but the reason Ibiza's all inclusive hotels are the right place for you comes down to three things: the island's gorgeous weather year-round, the variety of all inclusive hotel types for all sorts of holiday-makers, and the security taken to care for ...
Some tip every meal, some tip the last day they are at the hotel. Some hotels have a “shared-tips” policy where all tips collected are shared equally among the restaurant staff. Employees come from all over Mexico and there are different view points among Mexican's against one-another.
Most all inclusive deals comprise breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and unlimited soft drinks and local alcoholic drinks. Light all inclusive is closer to full board and will have limits on food and drink, whereas plus packages can include extras like premium beverages or a 'free' mini bar in your room.
What is the difference between full board and all inclusive? Full board means that breakfast, lunch and dinner are included in the price. And making an all-inclusive reservation means that, in addition, you will have all the drinks and snacks included.
Is The Cove at Atlantis adults-only? It isn't — there are many pool areas, waterslides and waterpark activities to keep guests of all ages busy. In fact, the resort boasts 141 acres of outdoor water activities.
Visit the boardwalk for free
Atlantis Bahamas is so big, it's like it's own little town. The boardwalk has activities, shopping and restaurants. It also has a great view of the water. The marina is right next to the boardwalk.
Whether you want to go casual or totally upscale, Atlantis has a dining option for you. You can even add on a dining plan if you want to make it easier on yourself during your stay. Bonus: kids 6 and under are free on the dining plan with a paying adult.
With the sale complete, Club Med's web site for Sandpiper Bay says the property is closed.
Sandals caters strictly to adults, so the entire resort is yours to stay and play. You'll interact with other couples during your stay, all with the same objective – making the most of a tropical vacation with an emphasis on romance!
For big and important trips, start planning 6-12 months in advance. This will give you time to find the best price on airfare, lodging, and activities. It's also plenty of time to save money for the trip, get/renew passports, learn a little about the language and culture, and research your destination in depth.
The best deals can usually be had at the last minute. Hotwire.com bases their business model on it. Since the hotel rooms are likely to go unused they might as well rent them out cheap. I've booked rooms within 48 hours and had some great discounts, like >50% off regular price.
